Live Sessions: Terence O’Flaherty & James Carty – Fri 17th Mar, 8pm

In light of Saint Patrick’s Day join us for an evening of Traditional Irish Music!!

This group, comprised of Terence O’Flaherty and James Carty, both local residents, take us through an acoustic journey of folk songs, ideal for the hearty listener.

Terence O’Flaherty is a traditional Irish singer/songwriter and musician from Co Clare on the west coast of Ireland. He spent many years involved in the trad music scene in London playing at all the main pub and concert venues. Terence has gigged with all the leading Irish musicians and has also worked abroad with musicians from a variety of other genres.

James Carty is renowned fiddle player from Boyle Co Roscommon.

James comes from a long line of trad Irish musicians and a family highly respected in the Traditional idiom. James however is cutting his own path in the trad music scene with a distinct style. There is a stillness and flavour to his playing, with beautiful and surprising flourishes that catch the ear and the listeners admiration. A technical ability to be envied and admired with free flowing ornamentation ever present within the strict confines of the beat.
