Join us for an intimate evening of handspan & cello from Dom Aversano & Shizuku Tatsuno.
Geometric is Dom Aversano’s debut album in collaboration with Shizuku Tatsuno, a record made up of four geometrically inspired compositions, written for handpan and cello. The inspiration for the project comes from an ancient Indian rhythmic language called konnakol, which allows a person to deconstruct and reconstruct rhythm in profound and beautiful ways. They will be playing music from this record as well as new compositions.
Dom Aversano is a composer, percussionist, and handpan player. His music incorporates influences ranging from South Indian Carnatic music, to the work of the American Minimalists. He has performed his music at internationally renowned festivals like Latitude, and in concert halls such as The Southbank Centre. He collaborates with the classical cellist and composer Shizuku Tatsuso, who is currently studying at The Royal College of Music.
