Geometric is a recording and live music project made up of four geometrically inspired compositions, written for handpan and cello.The inspiration for the project comes from an ancient Indian rhythmic language called konnakol, which allows a person to deconstruct and reconstruct rhythm in profound and beautiful ways. Some of the music for Geometric – which is currently being crowdfunded – will be performed for the first time at this concert. Dom Aversano is a composer, percussionist, and handpan player. His music incorporates influences ranging from South Indian Carnatic music, to the work of the American Minimalists. He has performed his music at internationally renowned festivals like Latitude, and in concert halls such as The Southbank Centre. He is collaborating with the classical cellist and composer Shizuku Tamuso, who is currently studying at The Royal College of Music.
