East London-based jazz singer Marisa Wessler combines her warm and lyrical voice with quirky and humorous performance sensibilities. She specialises in performing lesser-known repertoire from the Great American Songbook to Spanish-language songs which reflect her Chicana background. Marisa’s love of jazz was first nurtured as a teenager in California, when she won a scholarship to study at CalArts with veterans of American jazz such as Kenn Cox and Ralph ‘Buzzy’ Jones. For the past three years she’s been performing regularly in jazz clubs and pubs throughout London, and is a member of Bob Stuckey’s jazz ‘Mob’ in King’s Cross. Marisa will be joined at this gig by the superb Dominic Ashworth on guitar.
